Our Story
The Story behind the Name, Koukla:
​​The name Koukla, inspired by our family's Greek heritage and specifically our Yiayia (grandmother) carries with it a deep sense of love, warmth, and connection—an affectionate name often given to children by their elders. A Koukla to a Greek person is a child who is so precious and who will be spoiled with so much care and attention by all who is around them that they feel loved and supported.

At Little Koukla, we embrace this sentiment, recognising that raising a child is not just the work of one, but of many. Families, educators, and the wider community all have a role in shaping a child’s world, offering them guidance, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.
Our Centre is built on the belief that true learning and growth happen in partnership, where we walk alongside families to nurture, support, and celebrate each child's unique journey. Just as the name Koukla reflects the love passed down through generations, our childcare centre is a place where children are valued, supported, and surrounded by a caring community dedicated to their development and happiness.
The Story behind the Logo:
When deciding on a logo for the Centre we wanted it to encapsulate the sense of wonder and awe children experience through childhood. Children attend childcare to explore the world around them. Children are introduced to social skills, learning and play for the first time. We thought that a hot air balloon was symbolic of the sense of wonder a child feels when they attend childcare. It is a place of excitement and a place that equips them with the tools and skills necessary to explore the world around them and achieve great heights. We want to ensure your children are prepared for the journey of life ahead of them. By the end of their time at Little Koukla they will be able to soar through the exciting adventure that lays ahead of them.
The Story behind the Cente:
Little Koukla Early Learning was established in 2023, after taking over the beautiful Starbright - Booragoon. Taking the next step in the journey of this beloved childcare Centre was both an honour and a privilege. With deep roots and a strong foundation built on years of exceeding policies and procedures, this Centre has long been a place where children are nurtured and families are supported. By maintaining the dedicated team of educators who have poured their hearts into creating a warm and enriching environment, we ensure that the love, care, and quality that families have come to trust will continue. ​
